On July 15th, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) Cao Duc Phat hosted the national online conference with 63 provinces and cities nationwide on managing agricultural materials, food safety in the first months of the year and put out main tasks in the last months of 2014.
Leader of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development chaired the meeting at the bridge point in Quang Ngai.
As reported by MARD, in the first six months of 2014, over 832 aquaculture samples taken for analysis of microbial residues, toxic chemicals; detected 4 samples (in the South region) exceeded the maximum limit of chemical residues allowed.
Over 21,791 samples taken from the monitoring program of agriculture, forestry and fisheries at 63 localities; detected 570 samples violated the norms of microorganisms, chemicals, antibiotics and 112 other ones violated the standards of agricultural materials.
Besides, 1,584/ 14,323 tests on production of agricultural, forestry and fishery business have been discovered violations.
In Quang Ngai, as reported, over 425 turns of checking the business production units on agricultural materials, forestry and fisheries were implemented across the province; detected 51 business units violated.
In the last 6 months of 2014, localities were requested to enhance their roles of quality management and inspect widely the agricultural materials on animal feed, bio-products, veterinary drugs, pesticides, fertilizers; to classify the business production facilities of agricultural supplies and fishery products under Circular No. 14/2011/TT-BNNPTNT dated March 29th, 2011 of MARD.
