The Farmers’ Association of Chi Linh provincial town (Hai Duong) has coordinated with Ha Hiep Co., Ltd. (Ha Noi) to grow one hectare of asparagus at the field of Phan Duy Thanh’s family in Chi Linh hamlet (Nhan Hue commune).
Ha Hiep Co., Ltd. will provide varieties, give advice on the techniques of growing, care, and multiplication, and underwrite products with VND55,000/ kg being the lowest price level.
After the pilot growing is fruitful, the asparagus area will be expanded to about 10 hectares.
The duration of cooperation in growing and selling the plant type is 10 years, and people will have to sell products to the company in the first three years.
A new crop plant in Vietnam, asparagus is both a nutritious vegetable and a precious medicinal plant with high economic value. The time from growing to harvest is three months, and the plant will be harvested regularly if well cared for with proper process.
