On July 2nd, the Provincial Steering Committee for the National Target Program to build new rural areas held the conference on summarizing the 3-year implementation of the aforementioned program in the 2011-2020 period.

In the opening speech at the conference, Mr. Pham Dinh Cu, PPC Chairman cum Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for the National Target Program to build new rural areas, stated: The Program in the period of 2010-2020 was identified as one of important contents and tasks to implement the 7th Conference Resolution by the Central Party Committee-Term X on agriculture, farmers and rural areas. Thus, in recent years, despite difficult conditions, the Program has achieved some initial results thanks to the drastic interfering from the committees, governments, unions at all levels, response and active participation of the people in the province. The directing apparatus to implement program has been established; mechanisms and policies are timely issued, creating practical effects. Many sources of investing in infrastructure have been mobilized and integrated. At the same time, the emulation movement “The whole Phu Yen province building new countryside” is strongly responded by all levels, sectors and the people, many good practices, effective producing models; many groups and individuals have contributed funds, labor days and land… to implement the program, especially the scheme on concreting rural roads. Perceptions of staff and people of building up new rural areas are positively changing, contributing to successfully implementing the planned tasks and objectives.
After more than 3 years of deploying the Program, the total capital investment in agriculture and rural areas during the 3-year time by mobilization was VND 18,726 billion. The support from the Central budget was VND 105,629 million. To the end of 2012, 100% of communes completed the preparation and approval for the project of building new rural area. Until April, 2014, throughout the province, one commune reached 16 criteria, 24 communes with from 10 criteria to 15 criteria, 51 communes with from 5 criteria to 9 criteria, 12 communes with from 3 criteria to 4 criteria.
The conference set up goal, direction and measures to promote implementing the Programfrom 2014-2015 till 2020; in particular, striving to 2015, at least 25% of rural communes reaching new rural area standards and by 2020, 60% of communes will have reached new rural area standards.
On this occasion, the PPC praised 14 collectives and 18 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the movement “Contributing both efforts and hearts to building up new rural areas“.
