Richard De Boer, representative of the Global G.A.P Control Union, on July 18 gave a Global G.A.P certification to a dairy farm in Thai Hoa town, the central province of Nghe An.

The farm, belonging to Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), is the first one in the Southeast Asian region and among three in Asia to receive the Global G.A.P (Good Agriculture Practice) certification.
Vinamilk has so far had five dairy farms in Tuyen Quang, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Binh Dinh and Lam Dong Provinces with a total of 80,000 milk cows producing 55 tons of milk a day.
The company plans to build another four large farms in Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh and Tay Ninh Provinces. Its cow herb is expected to total 120,000-140,000, providing 1,000-2,000 tons of milk per day by 2020.
