The 2014 Pool Swimming Tournament was held on August 19 at Yet Kieu swimming pool (Hai Duong Provincial Center for Aquatic Sports Training, Drilling, and Competition).
Female athletes compete in the 50m freestyle event
This is the 15th out of 17 competitive sports of the 7th Provincial Gymnastics and Sports Festival.
64 male and female athletes from the 12 districts, provincial town, and city competed for 18 medal sets in the events of freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, with 50m, 100m, and 200m distances, and 4 x 50m freestyle relay.
Quite tense competition occurred in the tournament’s swimming turns as the athletes touched the finish line with insignificantly different achievements.
At the tournament, Kinh Mon district’s athletes showed their preponderant strength when snatching most gold medals. Athletes from the districts of Tu Ky, Cam Giang, Nam Sach, and Gia Loc also achieved good competition results.
At the end of the tournament, Kinh Mon district team won the first prize with six gold, three silvers, and one bronzes. Tu Ky district finished second with four golds, four silvers, and three bronzes. Cam Giang and Nam Sach districts tied for third place with each delegation grabbing three golds.
