(VOV) – Nearly 100 maps, documents and publications on Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos were showcased at an exhibition on August 1st in BacNinh city in BacNinh northern province.
These documents are historic evidence for Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos which have been explored and protected by the Vietnamese State since the 17th century and have been maintained in accordance with international law.
Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son emphasised that the exhibition will contribute to affirming Vietnam’s just stance on the East Sea issue, strengthen solidarity and heighten responsibilities of the people and overseas Vietnamese in the cause of protecting the nation’s sea and islands.
Especially, the event will help international friends including Chinese people understand about Vietnamese people’s aspiration for maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Provincial People’s Committee Chairman Nguyen Nhan Chien was very proud BacNinh has been selected as the ninth province to organise the important event.
Some coast guard and fisheries surveillance vessel models have been exhibited for the first time during the exhibition.
