Asian bodybuilder champion Nguyen Van Lam
HA NOI (VNS) – Viet Nam have won three gold medals at the ongoing Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships in Macau.
The winners are Nguyen Van Lam in the men’s 65kg category, Dinh Kim Loan in the women’s 49kg category and Tran Thi Cam Tu in the women’s under-155cm fitness class.
The team also pocketed three silvers courtesy of former world champions Pham Van Mach (men’s 60kg), Ton Hoang Khanh Lan (women’s 49kg) and Lam Thuy Mi (women’s over-155cm fitness).
The tournament, which will wrap up today, witnessed the participation of about 300 bodybuilders from 19 countries and territories across Asia.
Viet Nam, which have been named as among the continent’s top three competitors, took part in both the men’s and women’s categories with 26 athletes. At last year’s event in Viet Nam, the host bodybuilders earned 10 titles. – VNS
