PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Minister of National Defence, visited to the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command on August 22nd.
Over the past time, units under the Command have effectively fulfilled their assigned tasks, and successfully controlled the trade frauds and drug related crimes along the designated border areas.

They also paid attention to border external affairs. For example, they collaborated with Cambodian local authorities and involved forces to repatriate sets of remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts, and well responded to emerging issues to maintain the social order along borderline between the two countries.
After being briefed on the Command’ performance over the past years, General Cung hailed their achievements, especially in managing and firmly protecting national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Finally, he urged the command to pay more attention to building strong Party organizations at all levels, promoting unity and solidarity in units, enhancing political and ideological education for soldiers, improving both material and cultural lives of troops, and bringing into full play the comprehensive strength to accomplish their missions.
