In his newly-promulgated official letter, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee requested the Central Government to support Quang Ngai’s participation in the ODA program of the Republic of Korea in order to invest in building infrastructure systems and a number of essential works in Ly Son island district.

Accordingly, 16 projects are prioritized to invested in Ly Son, including construction of dikes, the Dinh habour, the underground cable from Dao Lon (Big island) to Dao Be (Small island), the Spratly and Paracel Islands Historical Museum; the tourism infrastructure, the fisheries information center; restoring the whale skeletons, etc…

Total investment capital for these projects is over 2,308 billion VND.

Currently, the infrastructure system in Ly Son island district is poor, many works and essential infrastructure is seriously downgraded. Therefore, the investment in the above-mentioned projects is urgently needed for socio-economic development of Ly Son in the coming years.

Reportedly, Ly Son island district has been approved to be part of the 45,300 hectare expansion planning of Dung Quat Economic Zone.
