VietNamNet Bridge – A Russian citizen has been detained for carrying 2.8kg of cocaine into Vietnam via Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Arriving in Vietnam on August 23 aboard a Vietnam Airlines flight VN650 from Singapore, Dapirka Maria concealed two nylon bags of white powder, weighing 1.87kg, inside her hand luggage.
The Russian passenger, 28, also hid another two nylon bags of white powder, weighing 0.93kg, inside a magazine.
Later examinations found the white powder contains cocaine.
The case has been transferred to the drug-related crimes investigation unit under the HCM City Police Department for further investigations.
