In the afternoon of July 30, the evaluation delegation from Government’s agencies and donors had a working session with Quang Ngai PPC on the National targeted Program of Rural Clean Water and Sanitation (PCERWAS, the Program). Acting Chairman of the PPC Le Quang Thich received and worked with the delegation.
At the meeting, the delegation noted and praised the gained results of the Program in Quang Ngai province in recent years. However, through the visit at the Program’s sites, the delegation pointed out some issues such as ineffective clean water systems, low rate of sanitary latrines at schools, etc.
Besides, a number of measures to better implement the Program have been share by the delegation at the meeting. They suggested the province should focus on the maintenance for projects; monitoring and evaluating projects after investment; supporting communes to implement the Program more effectively; especially strengthening propaganda to local people in using and maintaining clean water and sanitation works.
Earlier, on July 29, the Mission of Australian Embassy in Vietnam led by Mrs. Claire Ireland – Counsellor of the Australian Embassy paid a courtesy visit to Quang Ngai province’s leaders. Acting Chairman of the PPC Le Quang Thich received the Mission.
On behalf of the provincial leader, Thich expressed his thanks and highly appreciated Australia’s agencies and organizations for their valuable supports in the past time and affirmed that Quang Ngai province would effectively implement donated programs and projects.
