(VOV) – The 8th Vietnam Business Forum in Europe gathered more than 300 businesses and Vietnamese diplomatic missions from 12 European countries in Rome, Italy on August 22-24
- Vietnam, EU accelerate FTA negotiations
- Deputy PM encourages OV business contributions
- OV businesses focus on community development
Pham Van Hong, an Overseas Vietnamese (OV) entrepreneur in Italy and head of the forum’s organizing board, said the event aimed to devise orientations for OV businesses in EU to cope with economic difficulties in the region.
It provided an opportune occasion for OV businesses in EU to share experience and seek proper business solutions towards future sustainable development.
Hoang Manh Hue, OV businessperson from Poland and President of the OV Business Association in EU, said the OV business community has been confronted with a number of difficulties in recent years resulting from the global economic downturn and slow change of trading methods of OV businesses themselves.
OV businesses must change their thinking, product designs and improve the quality of products and services to meet the markets’ demands, Hue said.
Delegates touched upon opportunities and challenges after the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) is signed.
Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Hoang Long expressed hope that OV businesses’ healthy development will help promote prestige of Vietnamese brand names in the EU and accelerate the home country’s economic growth.
The ninth forum is scheduled for Bulgaria in 2015.
