Australia has officially opened its largest Royalla Solar Farm, at Royalla, south of Canberra. Australia's largest Royalla Solar Farm The 20 MW Royalla Solar Farm, was developed by a Spanish company and is made up of 83,000 solar panels with the capacity to supply electricity to around 4,500 Canberra homes. The project is spread over nearly 50 hectares and is the largest operating solar facility in the country. The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) Government said, it was the first large-scale solar farm to be connected to the national electricity grid. The ACT Government has a target of 90 per cent of its energy from renewable sources within six years, a goal, Environment Minister, Simon Corbell, said he was confident he could achieve./. |
