PANO – Considerable achievements in the bilateral defence cooperation, between Vietnam and Laos have contributed to reinforcing and developing the traditional ties and special solidarity between the two armies and peoples.
This was stated by General Phung Quang Thanh, Minister of National Defence, at the talks with a high-ranking Laotian military delegation, led by Minister of National Defence, Senior Lieutenant General Sengnuon Saynhalat, at the Ministry’s Headquarters on September 16th.
It was the first visit of the Lao general to Vietnam as the Lao Minister of National Defence.
Welcoming the delegation to Vietnam, General Phung Quang Thanh believed that their visit would make contribution to heightening the two sides’ bilateral defence cooperation and friendly relationship.
They exchanged views on concern issues, reviewed their defence cooperation relations over the past time, and worked out measures to beef up their defence cooperation in the time to come.
The two generals also expressed their pleasure at achievements on the two countries’ defence cooperation, based on their Protocol on bilateral defence cooperation in the 2010-2014 period.
For his part, Senior Lieutenant General Sengnuon Saynhalat thanked the Vietnamese Minister of National Defence for his warm welcome, and affirmed that the delegation’s visit to Vietnam would make contribution to promoting the traditional relationship and cooperation between the two armies and the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos.
