Supervision and social reviewing not only implements the rights and obligations under legal stipulations but also implements the functions of representing female classes under the associations’ regulations, contributing to fulfilling the functions of gender equality and enhancing the roles, responsibilities of Vietnamese Women’s Association in the process of state management. As related to this issue, Phu Yen Newspaper interviewed Mrs. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong, vice chairwoman of the provincial women’s association.

* In the past time, how have Phu Yen women’s associations at all levels implemented the tasks of supervision and social reviewing?
- Before the Decisions 217 and 218 by the Politburo on “Regulations for supervision, social reviewing of Vietnam National Front and the political-social organizations” and “Regulations on the National Front, political-social organizations and people contributing ideas to construct the Government, the Party”, women’s associations at all levels have coordinated with the people’s council, Vietnam National Father front joined hands with all levels to supervise the issues of constructing new rural areas, policies giving privileges to those sacrificing to the Revolution; simultaneously actively participating in raising ideas to construct the State’s legal acts, policies related to the task of women and women’s loves. At the beginning of 2013, due to not yet having the regulations of the provincial women’s association on organizing supervision on implementing the policies of supporting with electricity bills, medical insurance policy for children…in the two communes of Hoa Kien, An Phu (Tuy Hoa city). Till the end of 2013, the Politburo issued the new association’s regulations, thence; there is the regime for implementation. After participating in the conferences of the central association, the provincial women’s association has organized lots of training classes for the members in charge from provincial to district levels and cadres in 112 communes, wards and town lets. This is the first year for implementing the regime, stipulations, so, the Provincial association concentrates on instructing the women to fully understand the task of supervision, social reviewing and contributing to gradually gaining experience, before multiplying the model all over the province.
* For the task to gain high efficiency, what focal deeds will the association concentrate on?
- To implement this task efficiently, for the coming time, the provincial women’s association invests in the training task. During the training process, we are going to instruct the members the ways to conduct supervision, implement plans, write reports to implementing the process of supervision, social reviewing with concrete instructions, details…We provide orientation to the women members to select the issues for supervision, social reviewing with proper functions, tasks. In the coming time, the association is going to work with the provincial Party level, the PPC to implement the regulations on a large scope, to create the high consensus among the Party, within the state offices, enterprises. Besides the function of chairing, the women’s association will coordinate with the national father front, politician organizations to join in supervision, social reviewing. Because the members are also farmers, members with lots of participation, it’s surely that the issues raised will be better dealt with.
