The delegation listens to a report on activities of the provincial Women’s Union in the first nine months of 2014
A high-ranking delegation of the Democratic Women’s Union (WU) of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), led by Ms. Chae Chun Hui, the Union Vice Chairwoman in charge of foreign affairs, paid a working visit to Hai Duong on September 16 afternoon.
The delegation of the DPRK’s Democratic WU worked with the provincial WU and learnt about local women’s activities and movements.
The delegation of the DPRK’s Democratic WU also provided information about the union’s main activities and thought that there are many similarities between the operation of the WU of Hai Duong in particular, Vietnam in general, and that of the DPRK’s Democratic WU. Vietnamese women’s movement of building “five Nos, three Cleans” families corresponds with the “cleanness from houses to alleys” movement of DPRK’s women. Both WUs of the two countries have such models as helping each other with economic development, good parenting, etc.
The delegation visits the family of Pham Thi La
On the same day, the delegation of the DPRK’s Democratic WU studied the “five nos, three cleans” movement in Thanh Tung commune (Thanh Mien district); paid a visit to the family of Pham Thi La in team 3, Dong hamlet, one of 280 households receiving rewards from CHOBA project (funded by the East Meets West Foundation to help households build sanitary toilets); and visited a model specializing in the growing of vegetables, tubers, and fruits with high economic value implemented by La Xa hamlet’s women.
