In the morning of September 16th, the governmental delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited and worked in Phu Yen.
PPC Standing Vice Chairman, Mr. Le Van Truc reported to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and delegation on the economic-social situation, security, national defense in the first 8 months of the year and some key tasks for the last 4 months of 2014 of Phu Yen. Accordingly, in first 8 months, the economic-social situation, security, national defense status of Phu Yen have been stabilized and some sectors have been developed. Provincial leaders have spent more time to direct the localities, operate and remove difficulties, especially focusing on the site clearance work of major projects such as Highway 1, Ca Pass tunnel, Vung Ro oil Refinery and petrochemicals… In addition, the province has completed and put into use a number of important projects for transportation, irrigation … On this occasion, the province proposed to the Government and Central ministries to fund for combatting droughts in 2014 and settling drinking water sources in residental areas; funding for localities to build 16 resettlement areas and lighting system relocation, portable water system of the project “Expanding Highway 1 running through the Province”; funding projects of upgrading, expanding Highway 25, Highway 29 and Ca Pass resettlement area project. Simultaneously, the government should create optimums for Phu Yen with preferencial credit loans for investment of flood route projects through the districts of Tuy An, Phu Hoa, Tay Hoa and Tuy Hoa city; support Phu Yen with investing in infrastructure development of sustainable tourism from ADB fund and preferential investment credit capital for project of Phu Yen International General Hospital Project.
Concluding the working session, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc appreciated comprehensive results of economic-social development, security, national defense that Phu Yen has achieved in recent years. Deputy Prime Minister also noted that, besides achieved results, Phu Yen province need to overcome the shortcomings and limitations, such as competitiveness index provincial CPI, which remained low; Site clearance for 1A Highway project and progress of major projects have been slow, the prevention of crime has gained positive changes, but remainings many capital cases.
For the proposal of province in supporting budget capital to implement project of shared infrastructure for South Phu Yen Economic Zone, investment funds for My Lam reservoir project (Tay Hoa district); repairing, reinforcing pavement of Highway 25 and Highway 29, the Deputy Prime Minister acknowledged and delivered to the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Transport, Finance to supplement and early disbursing funds to Phu Yen province. Particularly as for the recommendations of the province, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested the Ministries of Planning and Investment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Finance, Transportation do research into advising the Prime Minister for consideration and settlement.
