All regulations and policies related to the lives of staff, teachers are studied by the Trade Union of Education Sector and the Staff Organization Office of the Education and Training Department, helping the sector’s leaders direct the education levels, faculties and Planning-Financial Division to conduct under the supervision of the Educational sector’s Trade Union system at all levels. With that working way, the regime for teachers and workers in the educational units is implemented quite well. In addition, the Sector’s Trade Union advises the leaders to resolve displacement for a number of teachers with especially difficult circumstances or those working for a long time in mountainous or difficult areas to move closer to their families. It is acknowledged by Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Chairman of Trade Union in Education sector, at the reviewing conference of Trade Union’s activities in the 2013-2014 school year. According to Mr. Thinh, in the past academic year, the Trade Union of the education sector at all levels continued setting up the monthly savings account of over VND 1billion to help improve family economy; maintaining the mutual funds from the grassroots to the province; settling 126 cases of serious illness, accidents with the amount of nearly VND 450 million; support to build 4 houses of “Trade Union shelter” for teachers in difficult circumstances…
To help the teachers in severe areas feel peace in mind to work, the Trade Union of Education sector has combined the assistance sources and donated an amount of VND 50,000/person through advocating staff, teachers working in the sector to build house for civil servants. The above money was allocated to schools in disadvantaged areas to build house for civil servants. In the past school year, a house for civil service worth VND 400 million was put into use in the Junior and Senior Secondary School of Nguyen Ba Ngoc (Son Hoa district). The Trade Union of the Education sector continues to build 3 public houses for teachers of the 3 schools of Ea Bar Kindergarten (Song Hinh district), Kpa KoLong Secondary School (Son Hoa district) and Nguyen Thai Binh high school (Dong Xuan district). The acceptance of the house for civil service in Kpa KoLong Secondary School has been recently held, teacher Tran Thanh Kim Phung said: “Previously, 6 of us shared a room, very cramped. Now, everything is more comfortable with a place to cook and more convenience in living; we have a stable place with conditions to study, better invest in teaching”.
Mr. Pham Van Thinh let known: “In the coming time, we continue promoting the emulating movement, campaigns in a practical and efficient way, avoiding formality, overcoming the “Sickness” of achievement in education. In addition to taking care of life, protecting the rights and legitimate interests for the teachers and workers, the sector also continues to work with the expertise at the same level to implement the innovative solutions for managing, improving the quality of educating and training, particularly caring about promoting the application of IT in teaching; fostering to advance qualifications and profession among teachers and management staff …”.
