A mother in the northern province of Thai Nguyen Province is in desperate need of financial help to save her two children in need of urgent surgery for heart disease.
Dao Thi Huong, has two daughters, a 14-year-old named Vu Thi Hue and an 11-year-old son, Vu Van Huan, who were both hospitalised without the ability to pay medical bills.
Huong’s husband died ten years ago, leaving her to carry the family burden as well as the extra hospital fees since the diagnosis of her children.
Nguyen Xuan Vinh, a nurse at Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi, said that they begged for surgery whenever a medical attendant entered their room so that they could recover and help their family.
Huong said that she feels powerless in the battle against the disease that threatens her children’s lives.
