The Deputy PM Phuc made the statement during a meeting with Japanese PM Shinzo Abe on October 10 as part of his visit to the Northeast Asian country.

Mr. Phuc called on Japan to foster judicial cooperation with Viet Nam, helping the country to train lawyers, and caring for the project on building an earth observation satellite.

He also took the occasion to extend deep condolences to Japan for human and property losses caused by September volcanic eruption at the Mont Ontake, hoping that Japanese people would soon overcome the consequences and stabilize life.

Meanwhile, PM Shinzo Abe reaffirmed the importance of Viet Nam in his country’s external policy, vowing to work harder to accelerate joint projects between the two countries, including those on judicial reform, trade, agriculture, and support industry.

Mr. Abe hopes the two countries will intensify people-to-people contacts through simplifying visa procedure and sending Vietnamese nurses and apprentices to Japan.

The same day, Deputy PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Japanese FM Kishida Fumio to discuss ways to beef up coordination at regional and international forums and build economic linkage frameworks such as the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.

FM Kishida Fumio affirmed that peace and stability in the East Sea is the common concern of the international community./.
