(VOVworld)- A campaign on free medical treatment for community in 2014 was launched on Sunday. The event was organized by the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Health, the Political General Department of the Vietnamese People’s Army and the Association of Young Doctors. It plans to provide free medical check-ups and treatment for 1 million poor people across Vietnam.
In his address, the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan highlighted the significance of the humanitarian campaign: “The Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Ministry of Health, the Political General Department of the Vietnamese People’s Army, the Association of Young Doctors, the Vietnam Insurance and the Vietnam Fatherland Front jointly organized this campaign to move toward ensuring health insurance for all. The campaign also aims to ensure clean water for people, especially in rural areas, improve the living environment, contribute to the expanded immunization program for all target children, overcome the malnutrition and ensure health insurance for all”.
