(VOVworld)- India’s media have over the past few days widely covered Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s visit to India on October 27 and 28. PTI, UNI, ANI, Times Now news agencies and major newspapers including “the Hindu”, the “Hindu Times”, the “Economic Times”, the “Indian Express”, the “Times of India” and the “India writes” highlighted the significance of agreements signed during the visit, especially those on national defense and oil and gas. They analyzed prospects for further development of bilateral ties. In addition to cooperation in national defense and economics, the two countries shared the same view on the East Sea issue and agreed that aviation and maritime freedom in the East Sea cannot be obstructed. They asked involved parties not to use force or threat to use force and resolve disputes by peaceful means according to international law including the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the sea. The Hindustan Times praised the development of Vietnam-India bilateral ties. India supported Vietnam’s past struggle for national independence. Since 2007, the Vietnam-India Strategic Partnership has been realized. India hopes to diversify its investment in Vietnam and is discussing with Vietnam about the possibility of establishing a tripartite strategic partnership with Japan.
