According to Mr. Nguyen Ly Nguyen, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Xuan district, strengthening innovation and developing local collective economy towards unifying, merging weak cooperatives, creating a stable infrastructure was implemented to be premise for performing in new cooperatives. The measure reduces the number of cooperatives but increases the quality in each cooperative as cooperatives expand operation scale, markets for consuming products and attract more members to contribute capital.
The actual operation showed that after being merged or unified, new cooperatives have initially performed more effectively. The cooperatives rated as moderate have chance increased to fairly ones and weak cooperatives begin to operate in stability. The change in the collective economic landscape in Dong Xuan district began when the People’s Committee in the district deployed the scheme of Consolidation, innovation and development for collective economy. Thanks to deployment in the right direction, in accordance with local conditions that helped the activities transition of the cooperatives under the Cooperatives Act 2012 be advantageous. Dong Xuan district is also the only locality in the province that has completed the first step of the conversion process.
