Pano feedVietNamNet Bridge – Mrs. Tran Thi Kim Anh, 52, living in District 11, HCM City has hunted cockroaches for 15 years. Thanks to this odd profession, she can repair her house and support her family.
She uses durian shell to lure cockroaches.
She works every night, even in rains.
Her work is always associated with dirty sewers and pork stalls in markets.
She usually goes to markets to catch cockroaches because these places have a lot of food.
This job is quite dangerous because the catcher can be cut by sharp objects inside drains.
In her early days, she could not eat because obsessed by the smell of cockroaches and waste water.
At first, some people called police to check her activities at night but then they showed her the good places to catch more cockroaches.
Many people fear cockroaches, but this animal has helped Mrs. Kim Anh support her family for years.
Her work begins when people sleep and end when the new day comes.
She also sells lottery tickets during the day to earn extra income.
Each cockroach is sold for VND100. Every night, she can earn more than VND100,000 ($5).
Thanks to this job, she could repair her old house. She said she would do this job until she could not do it anymore.
