(VOV) -The Hanoi-based Australia Embassy on November 28 hosted a ceremony awarding scholarship certificates to 161 outstanding Vietnamese researchers and managers.
Two persons with disabilities and seven ethnic minority people out of 161 awardees will follow postgraduate programs in early 2015 covering such areas as state governance, financial management, construction, the environment, agriculture, education and health.
Australia Awards Scholarships within the framework of the Government Scholarship Program aim to strengthen educational linkages and maintain the sustainable relationship between Australia and neighbouring countries.
Australia Awards Scholarships are available for vocational education and training courses, undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD degrees.
Since 1974, as many as 4,500 Vietnamese citizens have been trained in Australia under the programme.
