Typhoon Sinlaku to make landfall

Dealing with the bad weather, the Steering Board for Flood and Storms Control and the Search and Rescue Committee in south central and Central Highland provinces requested local authorities and functional forces pay attention the typhoon Sinlaku’s direction on November 29.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Cao Duc Phat presented at the south central and Central Highland provinces, where affected directly by the storm, in order to instruct measure to cope with the storm.



Last night, the typhoon Sinlaku was centered from Binh Dinh to Khanh Hoa province. Because of the influence of the storm, the mountainous districts of the south central and Central Highland provinces experienced heavy rain on the large scale.


According to forecast weather, flood should sweep through the regions as if typhoon Sinlaku made landfall. Thus, the Steering Board for Flood and Storms Control alerted local authorities have to keep close watch to the storm’s direction as well as move households to safer place in case of the emergency situation.


On the same day, Minister Cao Duc Phat attended in Phu Yen’s Song Cau commune to check fishing- ship parking along beach and the sea ports.


Minister Phat also instructed locals in an attempt to face to the storm in hydroelectric power reservoirs in the provinces.


In addition, the Steering Board for Flood and Storms Control and local authorities called on fishing- vessels and workers to leave from aquaculture areas and quickly move to ashore for avoiding the terrible typhoon.


Accordingly, there are 1,2000 fishermen and 200 vessels run offshore in Phu Yen; however, currently, most of fishing- vessels moved to safer places.
