HCMC invests $210.6 mil on new hospital

Ho Chi Minh City authorities have approved a multimillion-dollar project to build a 1,000-bed hospital in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Chanh District.


The new hospital was built in Tan Nhut Commune of Binh Chanh Distric in a bid to solve the current patient overload at both Pediatrics Hospitals 1 and 2 in the city.The new infirmary is named the Ho Chi Minh City Pediatrics Hospital, covering an area of 125,000 square meter with total investment at VND4.500 trillion (US$210,624,853). The investor is the municipal Department of Health’s construction management board.



As designed, the hospital will have a basement, a garbage disposal area, a wastewater treatment facility, a transformer station, and some other subsidiary works. It will also have spacious parking lots for cars and motorbikes, a playground for children, and a helicopter pad – for use in emergency reception or transfer of patients from and to remote areas.


As planned, the construction will begin late this year to be completed in 2016.
