(VOV) -Vietnam beat the Philippines, 3-1, at My Dinh National Stadium in Hanoi on November 28 to top Group A of the 2014 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup Championship.
Vietnamese footballer Ngo Hoang Thinh opened the scoring at the 9th minute of the first set. On 50 minutes, Midfielder Vu Minh Tuan scored a second goal and then Pham Thanh Luong lifted the score to 3-0 for Vietnam at the 58th minute.
The Philippines narrowed the gap at the 60th minute by Paul Mulders, but it was too little too late.
However, both Vietnam and the Philippines, with seven and six points respectively, move on into the semi-finals set to take place December 6-20 in Singapore.
