Talking about the event, Commander Nguyen Dinh Giang, the HQ-011’s Captain, said that this was a historical moment of the Vietnam People’s Navy, while Commander Nguyen Thien Quan, Deputy Commander of Brigade 162 of the Naval Region 4, said the event was a clear evidence for the development of the Vietnam People’s Navy, affirming the Navy’s capability of safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands.
Over the past years, the Vietnamese naval ships have toured to many foreign countries. However, this is the first time that the Vietnam People’s Navy has conducted such a meaningful long trip to the regional countries of Indonesia, Brunei and the Philippines. This is seen as a historical visit of the Vietnamese Navy.
The rear admiral said that building trust and promoting friendship with regional countries contributed to common efforts to maintain a peaceful and stable environment. “This is the visit’s purpose,” he added.
Proud to be part of the delegation, Commander Tran Viet Tien, the HQ-011’s Commissar, said that all crewmembers have shown their determination to fulfil this mission.
The Navy’s signal and logistics forces have been determined to ensuring the success of the long trip, making contributions to fulfilling defence external relations as an important mission of the Navy.
