In the afternoon of December 2, in Hanoi, Denmark Ambassador John Nielsen and Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Binh, Acting General Manager ANZ bank Vietnam signed a framework agreement on fund management bank.
Accordingly, ANZ Bank is authorized a unique bank hold energy saving fund of Danish Embassy worth $ 6.5 million. The fund was established to help Vietnam small and medium enterprises improve energy efficiency and promote cleaner and sustainable production.
Ambassador John Nielsen, Denmark decided to support 11 million USD for projects in the field of energy saving in Vietnam. The amount of $ 6.5 million as part of a full support from Denmark for small and medium enterprises in the field of manufacturing of bricks, ceramics and food processing.
Ambassador hopes the support from Denmark will contribute to raising awareness, providing ideas and innovations of private enterprise in real life.
Reportedly, Danish Embassy in Vietnam coordinated with Ministry of Industry and Trade to provide a finance mechanism to the fund $ 6.5 million, of which the commercial banks will work with small and medium businesses to choose the projects with high quality for the loan. Embassy of Denmark will finance 50% of the loan through finance of the ANZ Bank. The finance mechanism will be effective from January, 2015 to June, 2017. ANZ bank Vietnam committed to manage above amounts well.
