Vietnam-ASEAN Silk Festival opened in Hoi An

The Vietnam-ASEAN Silk Festival was opened at the Hoi An Silk Village in the central province of Quang Nam in the morning of December 28.

The festival attracted 32 artisans from seven silk villages throughout the country including Van Phuc, Phung Xa, Ma Chau, Tan Chau, Cham My Nghiep…


Artisans performed the different stages in producing a silk product such as raising silkworms; silk weaving…


An exhibition displaying 500 outstanding silk products of seven Vietnamese silk villages and other silk products in ASEAN countries namely Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan..was also launched at the opening ceremony.


In addition, fashion shows, music programs and cuisines will be held during festival to lure visitors.


The organization board said the festival is aimed to exchange and introduce Vietnamese silk products to other ASEAN member countries. This is also chance to honor Vietnamese artisans and seek cooperation in the region to develop Vietnam high quality silk products.
