In order to set up a new literacy class for local citizens, border troops had to spend a lot of time and different methods to mobilize local people. “We have faced many difficulties, but the most difficult mission is to persuade local people to join the class”, Lieutenant Hoang Van Tho, a teacher from the local border troops said to the reporter. Even we have to help them doing their crop harvesting, solving unexpected problems, he added.

The class received the support on teaching skills from Nguyen Dinh Chieu Primary School. This is the second time the school and the unit have collaborated to open literacy classes for local people.

From these classes, local border troops have made contributions to lighting up the locals’ belief and improving their knowledge.
