(VOV) -Vietnam and Japan will continue expanding cooperation in the fields of cultivation and aquaculture to increase the productivity and quality of Vietnamese products, said President Truong Tan Sang at a reception in Hanoi on January 21 for a delegation from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
At the function, Japan Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Nishikawa Koya affirmed that both nations have strictly cooperated in many realms, especially in the agriculture area. Japan’s funded projects on vegetable farrming for export and tuna fishing have been successful in Vietnam.
The Japanese Minister revealed that Japan is making a research on avian influenza vaccines and wants to cooperate with Vietnam in this work.
He said Japanese businesses wish that Vietnam will simplify administrative procedures to facilitate their investment in the country.
Meanwhile, State President Sang thanked Japan for transferring tuna fishing technologies to Vietnamese fishermen in Bình Dinh province, which has brought about high economic efficiency.
He wished that Japan will transfer the technologies to fishermen in other Vietnamese localities.
President Sang affirmed Vietnam’s willingness to cooperate with Japan in the production of vaccines and irrigation work. He said that Vietnam has always improved the investment environment to welcome Japanese investors.
