PANO – Military Zone 3 should focus on strengthening the defence-security education boards at all levels, raising the quality of providing defence-secuirty knowledge and promoting the popularization of defence-security mission among locals, especially those living in border areas, on islands and key defence-security areas.
The request was made by Sr. Lt. Gen. Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, Deputy Minister of National Defence and head of the Standing Committee of the National Defence-Security Education Central Council, on January 26th in Ha Long city when he was directing the zone’s meeting to review the defence-security education work in 2014 and map out missions for 2015.
Last year, the unit and the local defence-security education boards at all levels opened courses providing knowledge of defence-security for thousands of people at different levels. Besides, more than 550 students in the locality learnt defence-security knowledge. Notably, the defence-security education work in districts, departments, and schools were inspected with flying colours.
Highly appreciating the zone’s and local authorities’ achievements in defence-security work last year, General Ty reminded them to direct the comprehensive implementation of the work this year. He asked them to attach the work to defence external affairs and attach much importance to promoting combined strength of departments at all levels in carrying out the work to raise responsibilities of the whole people, especially cadres, party members and young generations towards the cause of national construction and protection.
