Vietnam will build a national wildlife conservation park in a northern province at a total cost of US$345 million, of which over 70 percent will come from private investment, according to an approved project.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has approved a master project to construct a wildlife conservation park at the national scale on an area of 1,155 hectares in Ky Phu and Phu Long communes in Nho Quan District of the northern province of Ninh Binh.

The park will be built at a total cost of around VND7,368 billion (US$345 million), of which 71.2 percent will come from private investment, and the rest will be paid by the State budget.

The objective of the park is to rescue, conserve, store and develop the sources of genes of wild animal species, especially those which are endangered, rare and precious.

Specifically, the park will firstly help rescue, preserve, and develop about 3,000 animals belonging to 250 different species.

The park will also serve scientific studies on wildlife, contribute to scientific and environmental training, and support efforts to combine environmental education and ecological tourism.
