NDO – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc gave the all clear to begin the expansion and upgrade of a section of National Highway 1A in the southern province of Quang Nam on February 21.
The Deputy PM asked investors and contractors to ensure quick implementation of the project in order to open the route to traffic in late April this year.
The route has a total length of nearly 60km running through the five districts of Duy Xuyen, Que Son, Thang Binh, Phu Ninh and Nui Thanh as well as Tam Ky city.
Sections of the highway in urban areas will be 20.5m wide including six lanes with a maximum speed of 60km per hour while other sections in rural areas will be 15.5m wide with a maximum speed of 80km per hour.
