Mr. Nguyen Van Que, Vice Chairman of the Hai Duong provincial People’s Committee, on February 10 afternoon received Hai Phong Bishop Vu Van Thien and provincial parish priests visiting and extending Tet (Lunar New Year)’s greetings to the province.
Talking to the delegation, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee gave an overview of the provincial socio-economic development, cultural and historical traditions, and the life of parishioners and non-parishioners in the province.
Mr. Nguyen Van Que thanked the diocese and priests for their attention to actively mobilizing parishioners to comply with legal provisions in religious activities and engage in charitable and humanitarian work, help each other do business, and contribute to building and developing their native lands.
Bishop Vu Van Thien thanked the provincial authorities for their friendly reception, attention, and help with creating conditions for administering priests in the area to fulfill their pastoral work and for parishioners to feel secure to develop their business and build a prosperous life, etc.
The Bishop suggested that the provincial authorities continue to facilitate legitimate activities of religions, care about adequately solving outstanding issues in some places of worship, etc.
The Hai Phong Bishop wished parishioners peaceful, solidary, and economical Tet celebrations.
