New Year get-together for foreign organizations

PANO – A get-together was held in Hanoi on February 10th for representatives from embassies, diplomatic missions, international cooperation agencies and international and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Vietnam.

The event was co-organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) and the Working Committee for Foreign NGOs, in the presence of Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan.


Addressing the get-together, VUFO Chairman Vu Xuan Hong stressed that the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and foreign countries have been increasingly enhanced and expanded. Approximately US $300 million from NGOs was disbursed, making considerable contribution to the national development.


Welcoming the union’s results over the past years, Vice President Doan emphasized that these achievements have made active contributions to practicing the Party and State’s policies, promoting friendship and mutual understanding between Vietnamese and international people.


On behalf of diplomatic missions, Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam El Houcine Fardani thanked the VUFO for their contribution in connecting foreigners working in Vietnam with the country’s diverse culture and heritages. Besides, he hoped that the organization’s efforts would continue promoting solidarity and mutual understanding among Vietnam and foreign countries, contributing to peace and trust in the region and the rest of the world as well.
