VGP – Relations and cooperation between Viet Nam with the Czeh Republic and Slovakia were reviewed at a ceremony recently held in Ho Chi Minh City.
The Union of Friendship Organisations (HUFO) in Ho Chi Minh City and the Viet Nam-Czech and Viet Nam-Slovakia friendship associations co-hosted a ceremony.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Viet Nam and the two European nations, HUFO President Le Hung Quoc stressed Vietnamese people always bear in mind and greatly value valuable support that the governments of the Czech Republic and Slovakia have provided for Viet Nam over last decades.
Over the last 65 years, friendship and all-around connection between Viet Nam and the two countries have grown steadily, prominently evidenced by the signing of numerous cooperation agreements.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Viet Nam Martin Klepetko extolled the outstanding results in the bilateral diplomatic ties over the last 65 years, saying that his country will work together with Viet Nam to bring their relations to a higher level, especially in economics, politics, and culture.
Slovakian Ambassador to Viet Nam Igor Pacolak said he hopes Viet Nam-Slovakia ties will be further promoted at all levels.
He revealed that his country will accelerate economic and cultural projects in Viet Nam in the time ahead, aiming to upgrade the Viet Nam-Slovakia relations in to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the future.
The Czech Republic is one of regular officialdevelopment assistance (ODA) providers for Viet Nam. Export-import turnover between Viet Nam and the country in 2014 was valued at $294 million.
Total export-import turnover between the two countries hit more than $309 million. Slovakia has so far poured $305 million into Viet Nam’s projects.
