Ha Noi City Party Committee’s Secretary Mr. Pham Quang Nghi, member of the 11th Politburo, on March 25 met with authorities of Ly Son district, after finishing his tour to some places in Quang Ngai city and his attendance at the Anniversary of making 40 years of Quang Ngai Province revolution held on Wednesday evening, March 24. ​


Deputy Secretary of Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Minh and Vice Chairmanof Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee Mr. Pham Truong Tho and Provincial Department’s leaders were present at the meeting.


According to the report presented by a district leader, Ly Son Island district has still remained the increase of GDP between 15 % and 17 % since 2010. GDP per capita in 2014 touched over 18 million dong.


Ly Son, being an island district, owns rich opportunities to develop marine economy, particularly fishing. The district has 409 fishing boats and over 4,000 labors, working offshore.


In recent years, this island district has been attracting huge number of tourists because of its original and undiscovered wonderful landscapes.


It is reported that during the first three months of the year, over 15,000 tourists visited the island with a total turnover of 20 billion dong, a double increase compared to the revenue in the same time in 2014.


Mr. Pham Quang Nghi praised the achievements of the island district, adding that district’s party and government should identify key tasks to implement and develop district’s available potentials and advantages to be a national fishery centre.


“To reach the planned targets,” he said, “a part from supports of the State Government, Ly Son district should make more efforts in developing this island as good as other islands in the country.”


The Secretary Pham Quang Nghi donated the fund for Ly Son development one billion dong and also visited some places on the island.
