Massive fire breaks out at Vietnamese market in Kazan

(VOV) – One person died and at least 22 others were injured in a huge fire that erupted at the Admiral trade centre in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan on March 11, according to the Russian News Agency.


The fire started on the first floor of the three-storied trade centre at around 13:00 (Moscow time) covering an area of about 4,000 metres.

Andrey Rodygin from Tatarstan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said the 4,000m2 market was rapidly engulfed by flames.


About 70 fire engines, 300 firefighters and one Mi-8 helicopters were called in to put out the blaze.


There’s no information on human losses related to Vietnamese people living in the Russian city.
