PANO – The Song Dao Ship Building Joint-Stock Company of the Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (SBIC) handed over a new steel-hull ship, coded VO18 01, to fisherman Nguyen Quoc Trong from Nghi Quang commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province on March 2nd. This is the eighth fishing ship of this kind built at the company in the framework of the SBIC’s steel-hull shipbuilding program.

This 20-crewmember ship is 26m long, 6.8m wide and 3.4m high. It has eight holds including a 111 cu.m hold for frozen fish, a 25.4 cu.m hold for water storage, and a 31.2 cu.m hold for oil. It is equipped with a major engine of 650HP, a magnetic compass, GPS system, a depth finder, and many other types of modern equipment.


Especially, the ship specializing in catching cuttlefish has 140 mercury-vapor lamps, with the power of 1,000 watts per one, to attract cuttlefish.


On this occasion, the company also kick-started the building of the new fisheries surveillance ship KN-750.
