(VOV) -A ceremony was held at the Melia Hanoi Hotel on March 27 to mark the 70th anniversary of Myanmar Armed Forces Day.
Prominent figures in attendance includedDeputy Defence Minister Senior Lieut. Gen. Truong Quang Khanh, Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam Win Hlaing and Myanmar Military, Naval, and Air Attaché to Vietnam Brigadier General Nyunt Swe.
Speaking at the event, Myanmar Brigadier General Nyunt expressed his belief that the ties between Vietnam and Myanmar have continued to blossom since they were established in 1975.
General Nyunt expressed his hope that they would further evolve to new heights in the future meeting the interests of both nations for peace and prosperity in the region and the world.
In 2014, two-way trade between Vietnam and Myanmar expanded by 35% on-year to US$475 million. The figure is expected to reach US$500 million in 2015.
Vietnam is now the 8th largest investor in Myanmar with US$513 million invested in 7 projects.
