The Saigon Times Daily
The story is about the never-ending bad luck of Loc, a former athletics champion. He is in big debt and tries his luck at an illegal casino. He loses the game and is in big trouble with even more debts owed to the casino owner. Loc tries to rob a gold shop but fails then comes across a desperate gangster who is being hunted by a rival mafia gang and asks Loc to help him escape. Loc then gets involved in a series of murders as his downward spiral is almost complete.
The movie is directed by Nguyen Khac Huy, a graduate from cinema school in Sydney, Australia. The movie is fast-paced with lots of thrilling action scenes which are really different compared to other Vietnamese movies.
There is a first leading role for rocker Pham Anh Khoa and the first ‘negative’ role for model Nhan Phuc Vinh. The movie is produced by popular actress Hong Anh with English subtitles.
