| (CPV) -Vietnamese citizens are eligible to apply for the prestigious New Zealand ASEAN scholarships to undertake postgraduate courses in New Zealand for the 2016 tertiary year. Some of 30 successful awardees will receive full tuition fees, return air fares, an establishment allowance upon arrival in New Zealand, a living allowance to cover day to day costs, and a reunion airfare for unaccompanied awardees.
“New Zealand ASEAN scholarships are a great opportunity for Vietnamese students wishing to earn a highly valued and internationally recognised tertiary qualification. Studying in New Zealand opens up new and exciting prospects and empowers individuals with the skills and qualifications to make a lasting contribution to the economic, social and political development of their country,” said New Zealand Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr Haike Manning. Education is one of the key priorities of the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and New Zealand. So far, the country has welcomed Vietnamese students to study for the past 50 years and has become a popular study destination for many young Vietnamese. Providing postgraduate scholarships to Vietnamese citizens is a demonstration of New Zealand’s commitment to support nation’s efforts in human resource development. While applicants from all fields are encouraged to apply, priority is given to students studying in areas of NZ comparative advantage and those that are priorities for the Vietnamese Government: agriculture and rural development, environment, disaster risk management, public sector management, and private sector development. Applications close on June 30th, 2015 for study beginning in early next year./. |
