It was stated by Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, at a get-together for the region’s veterans on March 15th in Hanoi to mark the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Tri Thien-Hue, March 26th.
At the meeting, organized by the liaison committee of the region’s veterans, delegates recalled their days of brave fights on the Tri Thien battlefield and even their huge losses with the aim of liberating Tri Thien-Hue, making contributions to liberation of the South and the reunification of the nation.

General Nghia highlighted the importance of victories on this battlefield and expressed token of gratitude to fallen soldiers and those who had devoted part of their blood and bone and youth to the entire victory of the country.
Informing the participants about the outcome of the army building over the past time, General Nghia laid stress on the strict observation of combat readiness posture, closely watch of local developments, prompt adjustment of combat readiness projects, good training, all contributing to the fulfillment of the mission of building and protecting the nation in the new period.
He wished veterans good health and active involvement in educating the national tradition for younger generations.
