In the framework of the visit of the Cambodia Ministry of Planning’s delegation, the 6th meeting between the ministers of the two countries was recently held in Hanoi to discuss plans to help Cambodia develop the statistics human resources, as well as finding solutions to promote economic cooperation to strengthen Vietnam – Cambodia investment.
Mr Hou Taing Eng, National Secretary of Cambodia Ministry of Planning evaluated that in recent years, the two Ministries have had good cooperation implemented smoothly most of the activities proposed. It is the mutual cooperation that contributed to strengthening the good long-term sustainable comprehensive neighborhood relationships of the two countries. At the same time, he confirmed the necessity of developing the human resources in Cambodia statistics. Mr Hou Taing Eng also appreciate the cooperation of the two governments in areas such as energy mining, banking, transportation, infrastructure development … which have achieved satisfactory results. As well, Vietnam continues to grant preferential loans to Cambodia in the development of health and education.
Regarding the content of cooperation between the planning sectors of the two countries, Minister Bui Quang Vinh agreed to continue cooperation in the development of Cambodia statistics. Also it is needed to upgrade electronic portal of the Golden Triangle of Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Specifically, in the cooperation plan in 2015, the two ministries will collaborate closely in the implementation of cooperation between the two ministries, learning from each other to exchange experiences related to specialized planning, investment which including inspection, statistics and other aspects between the two countries. At the same time, it is needed to strengthen the capacity of staff through training, short-term training as well as visit, study and exchange experiences with others. The two sides will improve the performance of electronic information page of the Golden Triangle Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam in order to attract investment and promote trade and tourism in three countries Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia.
According to the Minister Bui Quang Vinh, Vietnam so far has 128 projects in Cambodia and vice versa Cambodia has 3 projects in Vietnam. The areas of bilateral cooperation include energy, hydropower, rubber plantation … It is expected in 2015, bilateral trade turnover will reach $ 5 billion. To facilitate the collaborative relationships both parties are actively promoting the simplification in bank payment procedures… At the end of the meeting, the two sides also signed the minutes of the 6th Ministerial Meeting.
