PANO – The 2015 Hung Kings Worship Ritual and Hung King’s Temple Festival will be held for six days, the Phu Tho provincial People’s Committee and the Ministry of Information and Communications announced at a press conference in Hanoi on April 16th.
The festival, starting on April 23rd (or March 5th in the lunar calendar), will also see the participation of Son La, Phu Yen, Dak Nong, Tien Giang and Bac Lieu provinces.
It includes traditional worship rituals, such as the offering ceremonies to commemorate Hung Kings, and the solemn rituals to offer incense to the nation’s legendary founders, Lac Long Quan and Au Co.
In addition, many cultural activities will get underway, including a “hat xoan” (spring singing) contest, a photo exhibition themed “The Hung King worship ritual, the journey to be a world heritage”, a swimming competition and the “Banh Chung” (glutinous-rice square cake) and “Banh Day” (glutinous-rice round cake) wrapping and cooking competitions.
Notably, an artistic show themed “Resounding of the Ancestral Land” will be launched on April 25th (or March 7th in the lunar calendar) at the Hung Vuong Square in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho.
