The 3-storey building with a usable area of 730 square metres was constructed with non-refundable investment from USPACOM, worth nearly VND10 billion.

The construction owns modern equipment that will help to mitigate the consequences of natural disasters in the province, together with the electricity, water, solar energy systems and power generators.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Ms Rena Bitter, US Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, said that this was one of the constructions in a chain of natural disaster prevention centres that the US and Vietnam are building together, with the aim of increasing the speed and quality of response to natural disasters and in mitigating the consequences in the hardest hit in coastal areas of Vietnam.

The centre falls under security and defence cooperation activities between the US and Vietnam, towards the 20th anniversary of relation normalization between the two countries./.
