PANO – The Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank of Industry and Trade (VietinBank) signed a syndicated loan agreement, worth US$100 million, with three international banks led by Japan’s Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ., Ltd. (BTMU), in Hanoi on April 16th.
The loan, also provided by France’s BNP Paribas and Mega International Commercial Bank, will add foreign currencies to the bank, meeting its corporate clients’ needs.
In his speech at the signing ceremony, Phung Khac Ke, a member of VietinBank’s Board of Directors, spoke highly of the cooperation between VietinBank and the three above banks, saying that this opens more cooperation opportunities between the Vietnamese bank and its partners, as well as helps raise Vietinbank’s credibility on the international financial market and shows international investors’ trust in it.
For his part, Director General of the BTMU Vietnam and Head of its Hanoi branch Yasuo Matsuyama held that they would look forwards to having more opportunities to work with VietinBank for the country’s economic development.
